Hello,
Overall, life has been pretty good to me. I was born in China, and raised in a family of Traditional Chinese Medicine doctors. I went to school, married my college sweetheart, and earned my PhD in Acupuncture. My family moved to America in 2001, and we currently live in Edina, teach Acupuncture at Northwestern Health Sciences University, and raise our two young children. Pretty much the only dream I have left that remains unfulfilled is to own my own clinic.
Acupuncture Health Center is, of course, the culmination of that dream. It was never my intention to make it an “ordinary” acupuncture clinic, where just a few individuals have their own isolated practices. At Acupuncture Health Center, our cooperative team structure lets each patient get the benefit of our entire collective experience. As well as a center for healing, Acupuncture Health Center is also a center for education; education for our patients, education for the Western Medical community, as well as a source of continuing education for other acupuncturists.
Aside from our emphasis on education, another distinct feature of Acupuncture Health Center is that we actively try to foster cooperation between our Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine. When I worked as Supervising Physician at the Acupuncture Affiliated Outpatient Clinic of Tianjian University, I got a chance to observe first-hand the amazing things that could be accomplished when the two modalities were combined. It is my fervent wish to see these two great traditions integrated here in the United States as well.
So welcome to the integration of new and old, east and west. Welcome to my dream. Welcome to Acupuncture Health Center.
Sincerely,

Dr. Huan Ma, PhD
